My thoughts on the Nap Nanny
I haven’t used a Nap Nanny myself, but a good friend has one and she loves it. Any time her son is crying or upset she places him in the Nanny and he quiets down nicely. Also, the Nanny reminds me of the Tucker Sling which is also very popular for colic so you might want to check that out as well.
Pricing & Where to Buy
I’ve seen the Nap Nanny for sale for anywhere from $120-$145 online, offline it always seems way over priced. One of the best places to get a good deal on it seems to be Amazon.
If you don’t find it there, check our page on the best places to shop.

I wish it were made of organics. Otherwise an awesome product.
I wanted to see what the negative ratings were so I clicked on the down thumb and it recorded me as giving a negative rating. This is incorrect and you should deduct a negative rating from this product’s review as I know nothing about the product!
I bought the Nap Nanny when my daughter was a week old and I absolutely LOVE it. My daughter, who has colic, sleeps in it (we put it in her crib) and wakes up rested and happy. We’ve tried to put her on her back at night and she is miserable.
This is the best purchase we’ve made since she’s been born and I wouldn’t trade it for anything. The second best? The Revolution BOB.
Highly recommended.
My 4 month old has been sleeping in the nap nanny for over 2 months and it has been a savior. We co slepp and I recently found out that the nap nanny fits snugly into the arms reach co sleeper and puts her eye levey wit me.
It took a couple weeks of short amount of time to get her used to it, but now it is her place to sleep, nap and rest well.
The only con is the polyurithatne smell, but I covered it with a lambs wool (which also makes it a bit softer) and a sheet and this has worked really well for us.
It has worked great for us so far.
I wanted to let eveyone know that I have been using the Nap Nanny for a while now and it was the BEST baby product I have for my son who had problems early on with colic. It is newer product from what I understand and is a portable baby chair/recliner and I think the 30 degree incline is just the perfect position to offer my son a comfortable sleep. It has been a life saver. Now I order on Nap Nanny from here and in terms of the cost, to be honest I would have paid alot MORE for something that would provide me and my son with peace of mind and SLEEP. So to me it was worth every penny and more! I am trying to tell my girlfriends about it and give it as gifts. Good luck everyone with their little ones. Abby B. (aka…one happy Nap Nanny mom)
I have twins and they both have a nap nanny. They are nearly 5 months and have been in them since we came home at three weeks old. They had severe reflux and we were told they needed to always be at a 30 degree angle. I found the nap nannies and they are the greatest. They babies love them.
i love the nap nanny it is amazing
We bought the nap nanny when my dtr. was 2 months old and very fussy from reflux. She slept in it until she was almost 5 months old! It was hands down the best purchase we made for her. At first, I thought it was a little spendy, but it was worth every penny!! She finally slept!!!! That’s worth a million bucks to me!
When my son was born we didn’t know that he had a bad relux problem. So i tried to elevate his bed and that didn’t work. So, i did some research on the NapNanny and finally i decided to purchase it. It was the best investment i ever purchased. My son was able to sleep good and comfortably. we took trips and it was easy for me to tag his bed along with us. I do definitely recommend this product to anyone. I love it and it made our life much easier.
My mom bought my spit-r-upper a Nap Nanny This is my 3rd child and I don’t know what I did with out it! It is wonderful ! The first night No Spit Up now that he is just 4 months he sleeps the night away!!!! & So do I!!! My son is on med. for acid refl. and until the Nap Nanny I couldn’t sleep because he was needing suction all threw out the night . WHO COULD SLEEP ! This has been a BLESSING!
My son is a preemie and has trouble with reflux. I use it in the arms reach mini co-sleeper as another person said. It fills the whole thing and is very convenient. I purchased an extra cover for those middle of the night spit up and diaper incidents. I do wish it was made of something more health conscious than polyurethane foam, but it works so well that I try not to worry about it.
Love this product! My daughter used it for reflux (from 2 months- 9 mos) and it was the best investment we ever made. She finally outgrew at 9 mos. It was comfortable for her and easy to wash the cover, not to mention portable, which was great for travel. Also, it was great when she had a cold as it elevated her head.
My daughter slumps over in the nap nanny. Its the only place she will sleep so i keep using it but i wake up to check on her and she is often so slumped over that it worries me. Anyone else have that problem?
Awesome product best thing out there. We take them when we travel for overnights. I have them in the upstairs and downstairs nurseries. Great for twins for several reasons. Thanks to the mom that came up with them. They should advertise these in OB offices so moms can get them for their nursery before they bring the babies home.
I have LOVED the nap nanny. It was a gift..before that I had never heard of it. My baby is three months old and only sleeps through the night if she is in her nap nanny. I am concerned though for her back. Has anyone heard if the 30 degree incline is bad on the spine? Too much pressure? I just don’t want her little fragile spine to get wacked up this early on in life. Any advice?
My son was a preemie born at 28 weeks. After bringing him home we discovered he had a severe case of reflux. A nanny told us of the “Nap Nanny”, since October of 2009 our son has slept in his Nap Nanny and has done tremendously well. The only concern we have had is his head leaning to one side, since he has Torticolis. We have tried laying him flat in his crib but he just wakes up and cries, so we think he is uncomfortable with his reflux.
Does anyone know or has anyone weaned their child off the Nap Nanny. He is 19#’s now and is starting to outgrow it. We have tried a wedge under his sheet but it’s not near the angle as the Nap Nanny.
I WANT ONE SO BAD. my baby has acid reflux and severe congestion all the time. she has been sick more than she hasnt been.this item would be great, but the price is a little outta reach for me right now
My daughter loves the nap nanny. It’s the only place she will sleep. I have an issue though, she is a very active sleeper and I have often found her lying sideways across the Nap nanny with her head hanging off. I’m not sure what to do about it. It’s so unsafe but at the same time the only place she will sleep.
My 4 month old son has amongst the worst reflux the upper G.I. testers had ever seen. The speech pathologist who was part of the test said that parents used to think that putting babies in car seats and bouncers helped, as their upper body was elevated.
It doesn’t.
It squishes the tummy up by pulling the knees towards the tummy, thereby pushing the food up the digestive tract – reflux, in other words.
I don’t know, I haven’t tried it, but in my totally layman’s opinion, this device looks to me like it may do the same thing. Just worth a thought?
I have been putting our son in the Nap Nanny since he was 6 weeks old. He had severe reflux (projectile vomiting, huge spit-ups). At first, it was a God-send. He just slept so much better and went to sleep so easily. But now, he is 6 months old, and he doesn’t need it any more. It has become impossible to put him down in the crib without it. He is absolutely attached to it. So, while I know it helped with the reflux, now I wish I had never used it. I know now that whenever I am ready to lose a few nights’ sleep, I will just have to wean him from it. But I know it will be hard. He is so traumatized when we don’t use it and it takes about 1/2 hour to an hour to calm him down after we try putting him down without it. I would recommend using a wedge under the mattress before you try the Nap Nanny.
This is the best purchase we’ve made since we had our son. He had terrible colic and spits up constantly. With the Nap Nanny, the spitting up has reduced drastically and we haven’t had to swaddle him anymore because he is so happy to be sitting up. He no longer has reflux coming out his nose at all hours of the night. He went from waking up every 15 minutes to sleeping for 4 hours straight!
I just bought the nap nanny and can’t wait for it to arrive !! Does anyone know the age group of this ?
I love the Nap Nanny. My 2 month old has been sleeping in it since we brought her home. She has sinus issues and the elevation seems to help her sleep and still breathe well. I also have a 2 year old and wish we would have had this with her. Definitely worth the money!!!!
I have a nearly 5 month old that has slept in his carseat/carrier (same concept) but is about to out grow it. He only sleeps well in it so I am looking in to this. My question is, what age is this product good through. He is already 17 lbs and nearly 27 inches long. Is he too big for this?
